Financial Aid Information
It is never too late for families of graduating seniors to apply for 2013 financial aid. Although the deadline for state college aid is March 1, 2013, families still may file for federal aid and grants. If you are filing, it is recommended that you file online at www.fafsa.gov. Remember that the student and a parent both need to file for a PIN at www.pin.ed.gov It is best to have your PIN before filing your form. If there are any questions, they should be referred to 1-800-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) or contact the college where the student will be attending and ask for the financial aid office. Each college has financial aid advisors who can help you with your questions.
The North Branch Counseling Website can be found by going to www.nbbroncos.net and clicking on the high school web page. By clicking on the counseling center, parents/students will find links to free national scholarship databases, local scholarship listings, and financial aid information. A local scholarship booklet will also be available by February online or in the counseling office. This booklet will have a listing of all local scholarships, criteria, and deadlines to help seniors in their scholarship search. The counselor will be meeting with seniors as a group to review all local scholarships and facilitate the application process.
